Who can use this service

At Select Move we want to ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to access our service and therefore have an "Open" Waiting List which means that anyone can apply irrespective of where they live now, their financial status, race, age, colour, disability, ethnic or national origin, gender, martial status, religion or sexual orientation.

Eligibility to join the scheme

Those who may apply for registration on the scheme are:-

  • Any person aged 18 or over
  • Persons aged 16 – 17 with dependants or who are pregnant
  • Persons aged 16 – 17 with appropriate support
  • A tenant of a partner Association.

Applicant checks will be carried out at the time of application on all members of the household applying to be re-housed.  These checks will be made to confirm

  • Identity e.g. passport, photo driving licence, birth certificate or written confirmation from a professional     person or support agency.
  • Public Sector landlord references (where the applicant has previously held a public sector tenancy)
  • Police Checks where applicants have indicated an “unspent” conviction

Providing these check are satisfactory the applicant will then be accpeted on to the scheme.
